The pareo
or pāreu is almost a necessity for
women when going on a summer vacation with a
beach. Pareo is the Tahitian word for
wraparound skirt but nowadays the
term pareo is applied to any piece of cloth
worn wrapped around the body, worn by males or
females. A pareo is sometimes referred to as a
sarong, Sāmoan lavalava, Tongan tupenu or
simply a beach pareo and other such
garments.
There are
many ways to wear a pareo. See Ways to Wear a
Pareo to learn different ways to tie and
put on a pareo for different types of pareos.
Pareo is great for beachwear. One pareo can be
tied in many different ways giving you
different looks and fashion.
