Indiana Vacation Spots

There aren't many great Indiana vacation spots. If you are visiting the United States for the first time, Indiana is probably not the state you want to stop by the most. Indiana has many quiet farmland stretching alongside busy cities. Forests and lakes are common. Indiana is one of the twelve states of the MidWest but it is the smallest state. Below are some interesting Indiana vacation spots and destinations.
Wyandotte Caves and Marengo Cave

Wyandotte Cave is one of Indiana' s two most famous caverns. The other being Marengo Cave. Wyandotte Cave in southern Indiana is one of the largest caves in North America. Wyandotte Cave contains Monument Mountain which is an underground mountain that is more than 135 feet or 41m high.

Hoosier National Forest

Hoosier National Forest is in the 197,000 acre in the south central of Indiana. There are many hills, steep ridges, lakes and streams. People love to go hiking on various trails in the Hoosier National Forest where there are hickory oak, maple, beech, pine and cedar trees. On good days, you will see many different types of birds such as yellow winged sparrows, prairie larks, orioles, swallows, wrens, quail, pheasants, wild turkeys and cardinals which is the state bird of Indiana.
